Level 2 Junior Athletics Coaches or volunteers to become coaches.
It is with great sadness that due to personal and work commitments Sam and Gary Brotherhood will be stepping down from their roles of Junior Coaches from April 2024. They have been with the club since before its inception in 2014 and will be sorely missed for the commitment, enthusiasm, care and humour that they have brought to Harling Athletics Club.
So we now need: Two Level 2 Junior Coaches from April 2024 (if not before) or a small group of volunteers (whereby they could share the training) to train alongside Sam and Gary from January/February 2024, receive qualifications and then to take over training sessions on Mondays 7pm to 8pm and Saturdays 9am to 10 am. All training costs will be met by Harling Athletics Club. Please email: harlingathletics@gmail.com for further details.

Well done to all who participated the Harling 10k on Sunday September 3rd 2023. A good turnout and hot weather conditions! Thank you to the route marshals and well wishers helping the runners along the course on the day - with extras thrown in of jelly babies and watersoakers! And a extra special thank you to Crendon, Harling Water and all the other marshals and helpers without whom this race would not go ahead.
Here is a list of 2023 Trophy Winners:

The Harling 10k takes in the flat roads from East Harling to Bridgham and then through a short forest section before finishing with the final 2km on the roads, back to the recreation ground with the opportunity for a fast finish and the promise of cake!
Medals for all finishers plus trophies for top finishers in each category.

Last Friday night saw over 450 runners all taking to the Lotus Test Track for the 3rd Lotus Test Track Running Evening, hosted by Harling Athletic Club, sponsored by Lotus and this year the 10k was part of the SportLink Grand Prix series.
It was another scorcher of a night, not quite the 30 degrees of ’22, but warm enough! Was great to see so many runners streaming past the shiny new Lotus Graham Chapman Production centre and some beautiful classic Lotus cars dotted around the track and new Emirates and Electra models on display. The juniors headed out first and the winner of the junior race was Jack Brown in 8.44, Olivia Ord in 9:58 . The winner of the 10k, Kyle Brooks, from Norfolk Gazelles, came in at 34:02, first female Alison Armstrong, representing Wymondham AC, in 40:00, a full break down of results can be found here Lotus Test Track Running Evening '23 RESULTS (also below). This year the 5k was open to both individuals and teams – the individual winner was Jack Teuten from Bungay Black Dog coming in at 17:16, the team was won by the aptly named Bungay Black Dog Team, “The Hot Dogs”, with a combined age graded score of 75.49%.
We always wanted the Lotus Test Track Running Evening event to be a social running event, where runners across the region could congregate – the atmosphere was really supportive, lots of people encouraging each other on the track and then chatting over food or a coffee at the end of the race. A huge thank you to our caterers on the night – Jen-Dee Farm, Walking Wok and Florenco’s Coffee and, of course to The Norfolk Water Company for providing the water - yet again turning out to be critical on the night.
As always, also a huge thankyou to MED-PTS for being on hand to look after us and also the army of volunteers to help set-up the event and clear up after all the runners had taken their weary legs home.
Keep your eyes peeled for the date to be announced for the 2024 Lotus Test Track Running Evening, and hope to see you at the (Harling 10k Booking Link) and other races in the 2023 calendar, in the meantime you can revisit the evening here SportLink YouTube Report, Lotus Test Track Running Evening '23 PHOTOS
Our congratulations to all who took part. Also, our thanks to all the helpers throughout the evening and all pre-preps.
