On your marks, get set, go!

It's a clock! See the picture below in the Handicap 5k post.

Powered by battery or solar. It can count up and down, show the time and probably a number of other great athletic moves...

We'll be using this clock for the HAC Lotus Test Track event on 17th June (details to come) and for the Harling 10k on July 24th.

You could be running past this clock, so keep you eye out for the entry notices of these two races.

New Committee Members

We are always looking for new persons to join our committee to take our club forward. If this is something that you are interested in, please email: garybrotherhoodhac@gmail.com

The committee is formed of volunteers and coaches who meet once every 2 months to discuss club matters and to make the club run efficiently for the need of our junior and senior members.

Updated: Mar 15, 2022

The Handicap 5k race made a return on 26 February 2022, but this time with a twist to the rules.

For this event, every runner could select their own target race time and were started in reverse order, with the objective of all reaching the finish line at the same time. The twist was that anyone finishing before their target time would receive no time and be excluded from the results. Oh, and the use of personal timing equipment was forbidden!

As expected, a number of runners got carried away at the mass finish and crossed the line early. This included Luke, who finished with the fastest time of 19:32, but unfortunately this was 18 seconds faster than his target - so “No Time”!

The first three over the line, after the clock had counted down to zero were Jane, Lewis and Pip.

We will finally be able to present the Handicap 5k trophy an enforced hiatus.

Well done to all who took part. Here are the final results:

Finishing Order Name Handicap Time Rank

1 Becky Vine Under No Time

2 Martin Gooderham Under No Time

3 Luke Pavey Under No Time

4 Kirsty Staddon Under No Time

5 Paul Claughton Under No Time

6 Jane Williams 00:16.5 1

7 Lewis Fowler 00:24.4 2

8 Pip Westwood 00:27.9 3

9 Lizz Shaw 00:56.2 4

10 Samantha Deal 02:16.7 5
